You can help families in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia whose lives have been severely impacted by floods by making hygiene kits and cleaning buckets. Powell Church is in partnership with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church, which has already sent more than one thousand of these items to areas like Newport and Greeneville. These kits help families who may be displaced with essential items for hygiene, and the buckets help families clean their homes and businesses from damage. Our United Methodist connection allows local churches like ours to put together these items and take them to a collection point in Knoxville. They are then taken directly to local churches in affected areas, allowing them to serve as a contact point with local boots on the ground. New hygiene kits and flood buckets also help restock supply for the next emergency in our area.

Continue to pray for our friends and neighbors, that the presence of God might be known among them even in such a time as this. And thanks for all you do to help the church, both here in Knox County and in every affected area, be those very hands and feet of Jesus.
