Powell Church defines a disciple as “a follower of Jesus whose life is centered around loving God and loving others.” We are intentional about connecting people in a small group to grow, learn, and serve together.

Getting Started

Several times a year Connect to Powell is offered as a step in getting acquainted with Powell Church, Methodism, small groups, or even becoming a member. Connect to Powell is a one-hour meeting designed to help you learn about the church’s mission and vision, meet some of the leaders and staff, and find out about our Disciple’s Path group, which is our first step in group life. Our next Connect to Powell meetings are Sunday, September 8th, Wednesday, September 11th, and January 5th and 8th in 2020. We will meet in the worship center and child care is provided. No registration is required. Contact Jamie Bauknight at jbauknight@powellchurch.com with any questions.

Small Groups

We offer small groups on Sunday mornings, Sunday afternoons, and Wednesday evenings. These groups include bible studies, 12-step study, marriage workshops, grief recovery, Sunday school, and other topics. Small group studies focus on the areas of discipleship of prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Childcare is provided during the classes.
