Powell Church defines a disciple as “a follower of Jesus whose life is centering on loving God and loving others” and we are intentional about creating a path to becoming a disciple.

Through our multi-layered discipleship offerings, we provide opportunities to learn and implement the practices that center our lives on loving God and others. Whether this is your first time to test the waters or you are seeking an opportunity to challenge your current practices, join us on the path of transformation through becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. We believe that life transformation happens as we combine our beliefs and our actions on the path of discipleship.

Getting Started

As a first step, four times a year we offer Connect to Powell meetings for those interested in learning about Powell Church or becoming a member. Connect to Powell is a two hour meeting designed to help you learn about the church’s mission and vision, meet some of the leaders and staff, and find ways to get connected to small groups and opportunities to serve within the church. For 2017, Connect to Powell dates are Sunday, January 22, Wednesday, April 5, Sunday, July 9, and Wednesday, October 4. Contact Jamie Bauknight at jbauknight@powellchurch.com if you have any questions.

Small Groups and Study Groups

For anyone wishing to participate small groups, whether a short-term commitment or long-term, we offer groups and studies on Sunday and Wednesday evenings during the spring, fall, and winter seasons. These small groups and Bible studies focus on the areas of discipleship of prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Childcare is provided during the times. If you have any questions or are interested in attending, please contact Brooke Hartman, bhhartman@powellchurch.com.
