Brian became a follower of Jesus while participating in youth ministry at his home church in Chattanooga. It was also through the ministries of that church that he chose to follow God calling him into ministry as a vocation.
He received an undergraduate degree in History from UT Chattanooga before attending Graduate School at Asbury Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2003.
Brian served in Youth Ministry for 5 years during college and seminary before serving as an Associate Minister at First-Centenary UMC in Chattanooga for 12 years where he started an Alternative Worship Service and was its primary preaching pastor.
Brian is married to Melanie and they have two children, Caleb and Micah. He loves being a dad and husband, reading C.S. Lewis, talking theology, and Tennessee football.
Brian is passionate about being in a church that lives out it’s calling to be a “come as you are” kind of church. He loves seeing people grow in their faith and serving others. Brian believes God is calling Powell Church to make a difference in the Powell Community.
